ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ailing. — A person who allegedly attacked two family with a sledgehammer in suburban Chicago was fatally shot by police after he charged at officers.
Officers in Spherical Lake Seashore responded about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday to a home violence report and eliminated two injured ladies from an open storage.
The suspect armed with the sledgehammer charged at officers and first was shot with a stun gun, the Lake County Main Crimes Job Drive mentioned.
He continued towards the officers when not less than one officer shot him along with his service weapon. The person later died at a hospital. The Lake County Coroner’s Workplace on Thursday recognized him as 22-year-old Brandon Barry of Spherical Lake Seashore and mentioned he died from a number of gunshot wounds.
The injured ladies are believed to be his mom and an aunt. They had been taken to a hospital, police mentioned.
“Each victims had very severe head and facial accidents according to being struck with a blunt pressure object,” process pressure spokesman Christopher Covelli mentioned.
Spherical Lake Seashore is about 60 miles (96 kilometers) north of Chicago.
