A California girl who was fatally mauled by a grizzly bear in western Montana final summer time was the sufferer of a uncommon predatory assault by a bear that had discovered to hunt out human meals and was doubtless attracted scents close to her tent and others left behind from latest Independence Day picnics, wildlife officers stated. Leah Davis Lokan, 65, of Chico, was pulled out of her tent and mauled within the pre-dawn hours of July 6, 2021 within the small city of Ovando, alongside the banks of the Blackfoot River, made well-known by the film “A River Runs By way of It.” About an hour earlier than the mauling, the bear had approached the tents of Lokan and a Texas couple who had been tenting behind a museum.
