Legendary singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett handed away on Friday aged 76, in response to a press release printed on his official web site.

Buffett, who wrote and carried out the 1977 hit track “Margaritaville,” based a enterprise empire together with resorts, casinos, eating places, retirement communities, and a radio station, amassing a private fortune of $1 billion by June 2023, in response to Forbes.

In a press release, his crew stated: “Jimmy handed away peacefully on the night time of September 1st surrounded by his household, buddies, music and canine.

Tributes have already begun pouring in for Buffett on social media.

Posting to his 98,000 followers on X, previously Twitter, publicist Danny Deraney wrote: “Jimmy Buffett performed by his personal guidelines wrote songs he wished to sing and at all times to offered out exhibits. Parrotheads maintain a margarita in your honor.”

Journalist Dave Osborn commented: “Farewell, Son of a Sailor. Come Monday, it will not be all proper now that you have left us. RIP Jimmy Buffett.”
