The Director of the Australian Antarctic Division, Mr Kim Ellis, has introduced his retirement following a 45-year profession.
Mr Ellis’ affiliation with Antarctica and the Southern Ocean started in his early profession when he was with the Australian Military specialising in amphibious operations. Since becoming a member of the AAD in 2019 he has been a robust advocate of the Division’s vital work.
He has been an integral half in implementing the Australian Antarctic Technique and 20 Yr Motion Plan, and overseeing Australia’s pursuits within the area and the Australian Antarctic Program.
