Jack Wighton has shared on social media a few of the racist abuse he has acquired after saying he could be leaving the Canberra Raiders at season’s finish.

The NRL integrity unit is wanting into the messages that South Sydney-bound Wighton shared on his Instagram tales, telling him to “f*** off”, calling him a “c***” and a racial slur.

Fellow Indigenous Raiders star Jamal Fogarty shared the photographs on his Instagram, saying the messenger was “stooping low” and calling them a “little coward”.

“We’d like sturdy penalties/actions for this disgraceful behaviour and present the nation we do not settle for racism,” Fogarty wrote, tagging the Raiders, NRL and Rugby League Gamers Affiliation.

“Help your gamers #saynotoracism.”

NRL chief government Andrew Abdo confirmed the integrity unit was investigating and would take issues additional if want be.

“It is completely abhorrent that we’ve people who speak to anybody in that method, whether or not they’re a footballer or a member of the general public,” Abdo mentioned.

“The integrity unit are investigating and shall be cooperating with the related authorities to take applicable motion.”
