Former world primary Jordan Spieth has been disqualified for the primary time in 263 US PGA Tour begins after signing for the mistaken rating at a match in California.
Spieth was inside three photographs of the lead on the flip within the second spherical on the Riviera Nation Membership in Pacific Palisades till he dropped three photographs as Patrick Cantlay — taking part in in his group — started to drag away.
Three-time main winner Spieth made bogey on the 18th gap for a 73, leaving him 10 photographs behind fellow American Cantlay, who’s atop the leaderboard on 13-under-par.
However Spieth signed for a 3 on the par-3 fourth gap when he made a bogey, resulting in the disqualification.
Spieth had missed the inexperienced to the left, chipped to about 4 ft and lipped out.
“In the present day, I signed for an incorrect scorecard and stepped out of the scoring space, after considering I went via all procedures to ensure it was right,” Spieth wrote on X.
“Guidelines are guidelines, and I take full accountability.”
Australia’s Jason Day is tied for second place alongside American Luke Listing on 8-under.
Day shot a 2-under 69 within the second spherical.
“General, I am clearly very happy with the place I am at,” Day stated.
“However I do know that I may very well be quite a bit higher, contemplating the place I used to be after 10 (tenth gap) and three-putting 11 after which bogeying 12 and 13.”
Tiger Woods made an early exit, withdrawing after six holes as he was affected by flu signs.
