GENEVA: No less than 800,000 individuals in Myanmar want emergency meals assist and different help after Cyclone Mocha slammed into the conflict-torn nation earlier this week, the United Nations stated Friday.
“The cyclone left a path of devastation throughout Myanmar’s Rakhine State, with homes flattened, roads lower off by uprooted timber, hospitals and faculties destroyed, and telecommunications and energy traces severely disrupted,” Anthea Webb, the UN World Meals Programme’s deputy regional director for Asia and the Pacific, informed reporters in Geneva.
“There are no less than 800,000 individuals in pressing want of emergency meals help.”
