North Korea has launched ballistic missiles as US secretary of state Antony Blinken was visiting Seoul.
Three short-range ballistic missiles have been fired into the ocean on Monday, as Mr Blinken visited for a convention on advancing democracy.
It’s the first time in two months that North Korea has launched weapons of that sort.
South Korea stated that a number of short-range missiles flew about 186 miles (300km) and landed off the North’s east coast after being fired from the capital Pyongyang between 7.44am and eight.22am native time (round 11pm Sunday UK time).
The South condemned the launch as a “clear provocation” and stated it was sharing info with the US and Japan.
Blinken was amongst senior officers from world wide who have been in South Korea attending the Summit for Democracy convention, which begins immediately. He may even meet his South Korea counterpart, overseas minister Cho Tae-yul.

Pyongyang’s present of drive comes after the militaries of South Korea and the US completed ten days of large-scale annual joint navy drills final week.
The summit is an initiative of US President Joe Biden, geared toward discussing methods to cease the erosion of rights and freedoms globally, in addition to democratic backsliding.

Additionally, over the weekend, the South Korean navy mobilised assault helicopters, amphibious assault autos and marines in drills geared toward rising troop numbers to strengthen western islands close to the ocean border with their northern neighbours.
