OLLI: the Geology of I-49

Interstate 49 supplies an exquisite window into the pure world of the Pure State: The hills and valleys, the distant rock bluffs, the rivers deep within the valleys, the street cuts that expose the layers of rocks proper subsequent to you as you cruise onward to your vacation spot. Have you ever ever questioned why the hills and valleys are there? What are these distant rock bluffs? The place do these rivers movement? Teacher of Geology at NWACC and former exploration geologist for Exxon, Chris Moyer, will discover these and different pure options that may be seen alongside I-49 from Bella Vista (Freeway 71, I-49’s extension on the Missouri state line) southward via the plains of Rogers-Springdale, into the hills of the Fayetteville by-pass, and southward into the Boston Mountains right down to the I-40 interchange.
