For the third time this month, there was a shark assault within the Florida Keys. On Friday, a fisherman was hospitalized after a shark chew, deputies mentioned. And this time, the shark struck whereas on land.
Round 8 p.m., the 35-year-old was fishing off a dock on Flagship Drive in Sumerland Key, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned. The shark was on the dock with the angler when it took a chew of his foot.
It’s unclear if the person, who was not recognized, reeled within the shark or the way it ended up on the dock.
He was flown to Jackson South Medical Heart. His situation is unknown, deputies mentioned.
The day earlier than, one other man was bitten on the leg when he was out spearfishing off the Center Keys metropolis of Marathon. On Could 5, one other spearfisher was bitten on the leg by a shark close to Davis Reef off the Higher Keys.
