These House Republicans voted against Jim Jordan’s speaker bid in the first round

The Republicans opposing Rep. Jim Jordan’s bid for speaker made themselves recognized on the Home ground within the first roll name vote Tuesday to elect a brand new speaker of the Home, and with 20 voting towards him, he didn’t safe a majority within the first spherical.

When the vote completed, this was the ultimate tally: Democrat Chief Hakeem Jeffries, of New York, had 212 votes, these of each Democrat, Jordan had 200 GOP votes, six Republicans voted for former Home Speaker Kevin McCarthy, seven voted for Home Majority Chief Steve Scalise and three voted for former Rep. Lee Zeldin, of New York. Rep. Mike Garcia of California, received one vote, as did Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota, Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma and Rep. Tom Massie of Kentucky.

A spokesperson for Jordan mentioned after the top of the primary spherical that Home members must be ready to vote once more Tuesday.

7. Rep. Andrew Garbarino, of New York, was the second to vote for Zeldin.
8. Rep. Carlos Giménez, of Florida, voted for McCarthy. 
9. Rep. Tony Gonzales, of Texas, voted for Scalise.
10. Rep. Kay Granger, of Texas, voted for Scalise.
11. Rep. John James, of Michigan, voted for Cole.
12. Rep. Mike Kelly, of Pennsylvania, voted for Scalise.
13. Rep. Jennifer Kiggans, of Virginia, voted for McCarthy.
14. Rep. Nick LaLota, of New York, voted for Zeldin
15. Rep. Doug LaMalfa, of California, voted for McCarthy.
