President Trump on Monday will go to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and ship remarks at Arlington Cemetery to commemorate Memorial Day.
The president will lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a somber annual custom for presidents, and one Mr. Trump participated in throughout his first time period as president.
Early Monday, Mr. Trump posted a message on his social media platform Fact Social about Memorial Day, writing in all caps that he wished a “pleased Memorial Day to all,” together with the “scum that spent the final 4 years making an attempt to destroy our nation via warped radical left minds.” He went on to focus on immigration insurance policies and accused “USA-hating judges who are suffering from an ideology that’s sick, and really harmful for our nation” of defending criminals.
Memorial Day honors those that died in uniform because of battle. Because the Revolutionary Conflict, the Division of Veterans Affairs estimates greater than 650,000 U.S. navy personnel have died in battle.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, accomplished in 1932, to characterize the burial website of a soldier from World Conflict I whose stays couldn’t be recognized. Unknown stays from later wars have been added in 1958 and 1984.
Earlier this month, the president proclaimed on Fact Social that the U.S. will designate new holidays to commemorate the tip of World Conflict I and World Conflict II in Europe.

“I’m hereby declaring a Nationwide Vacation in celebration of the Victories of World Conflict I, the place the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918, and World Conflict II, the place the Victory date was Could 8, 1945,” he wrote.
