The US on Monday denounced the seizure of a cargo ship within the Crimson Sea by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi motion as a violation of worldwide regulation and demanded the quick launch of the vessel and its crew.

NYK Line mentioned the Galaxy Chief was seized off the Yemeni coast whereas heading to India. NYK chartered the ship from its British proprietor, Galaxy Maritime Ltd. NYK mentioned the ship had no cargo on the time of the hijacking.
