Straw Hat pirate followers gathered in Santa Monica for a particular occasion showcasing the primary episode of the Netflix live-action adaptation. 

The premise is easy: observe the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a younger boy who desires of changing into king of the pirates. On his journey, he builds his pirate crew and units off in quest of the world’s most treasured treasure: the One Piece.

Initially a manga collection written and illustrated by Japanese artist, Eiichiro Oda, “One Piece” is an iconic staple of Japanese comics. Launched in 1997 within the weekly “Shonen Bounce” journal, the collection boasts over 100 books thus far and has been revealed in dozens of languages. It has since been tailored into an anime collection with over 1000 Episodes and 15 motion pictures.

In January 2020, Netflix introduced it might be producing a live-action adaptation of the cult collection, which is about to premiere on the thirty first of August, 2023.
