West Coast coach Adam Simpson says he’s “livid and disenchanted” that some Eagles gamers visited an area nightclub within the midst of WA’s COVID-19 spike.

The Eagles launched an announcement saying they had been conscious some gamers went to a Leederville nightclub final Saturday.

“I’m livid and disenchanted with the actions of those gamers,” Simpson stated within the membership assertion.

The Eagles have launched an investigation.

“Given the present setting and the height in COVID-19 instances in Perth, the membership is devastated that some gamers opted to exit publicly as they’ve completed,” a membership spokesperson stated within the assertion.

“The membership has gone to nice lengths in educating the gamers round the necessity to adhere to membership tips and it’s past disappointing that they’ve put themselves on this scenario.

“It’s notably disheartening given the pressure on participant availability at this stage of the season.

“On the earliest alternative the membership will meet with the gamers involved.”

Simpson and eight gamers are unavailable for Saturday’s match in opposition to the Brisbane Lions on the Gabba due to COVID-19.

It’s the second time this season the Eagles have needed to name on supplementary checklist gamers as a result of COVID-19 has left them in need of numbers.

The AFL has given the Eagles till Friday to finalise their group.
